The idea behind Newsphoto is to give video and still photojournalists a place to display, market, sell and license their work. Think of it as a news co-op for photojournalists.

To keep your costs to a minimum, Newsphoto.com uses the Amazon S3 “Cloud Computing” service to store all of your images and videos. Your storage and bandwidth fees will be charged via Amazon Digital Services Inc. We do not mark up their very inexpensive storage fees and your photos and videos are stored in your own Amazon S3 account. You only pay for what you use.

After you upload your (video or photo) coverage from an event to your Newsphoto account, we require that you include a caption/story of at least 175 words describing the news event. This story and your lead photo from the assignment are then fed to our news distribution service BigNews.biz, which then feeds it to Google news, Weblogs.com, Feed Burner, My Yahoo!, BlogRolling, Weblogalot, Topic Exchange, Bloglines, Collecta, Blo.gs, Syndic8, PubSub.com, BlogStreet, Icerocket, Google Blog Search, PostRank, Technorati, NewsGator, Blogdigger, Moreover, News Is Free, Spinn3r and SkyGrid.

By increasing the distribution for your work, we drive more eyeballs back to your account on Newsphoto, which increases the odds of selling your work.
