Boys varsity lacrosse- Nassau Class B Final between the Garden City Trojans and the South Side Cyclones
Story:
Nassau County boys Lacrosse Class B final between the Garden City Trojans and the South Side Cyclones on Wednesday evening June 4th at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium. South Side opened up the scoring and had a 7-6 lead as the first half came to an end. Garden City tied it in the third on a goal by Francis McDonough but the Cyclones answered back with a goal by Nick O'Reilly. Brendan Carroll scores a transition goal on a pass from Jon Muscarella to give Garden City its first lead of the day at 9-8 with1:33 left in the third. After that goal, GC never gave up the lead and went on to win by a score of 13-10. Total scoring for Garden City included: Francis McDonough (5), Brendan Carroll(3), Will Fuller(3),Vin Chiodo (1) and Dan Savage (1). Assists for the Trojans included: Jon Muscarella, 3; Francis McDonough, 1; Brendan Carroll, and Dan Savage, 1.. Keeper Brian McCullough made four saves. Scoring for SOuth Side included: Colin Serling (4) Nick O'Reilly, (3) Kyle Smith (1), Gavin Ahern (1), and Pat Tighe (1). Assists for South Side included: Nick O'Reilly, 3; Gavin Ahern, 1. Ryan Alexander made 12 saves in goal for teh Cyclones.
