Garden City wins first round Class A girls soccer playoff 4-1 over Hewlett
Story:
Class A girls varsity soccer first round playoff action between the Garden City Trojans and the Hewlett Bulldogs on Friday afternoon October 24th at Garden City High School. Garden City's Jenna Zarou opened the scoring in the 13th minute, finishing a loose ball created by Erin Donnelly. Garden City's Emily Menges scored the game's deciding goal, heading in a corner kick from Christina Cessarini that put Garden City ahead 2-0 in the first half. Caroline Hohlman's high bouncer made it 3-0 and Michele Rotundo scored with a header into the net to give the Trojans their 4th goal and a 4-1 victory. Allie Spector scored Hewlett's goal. In goal for the Trojans were Ashley Pratt who made one save and Kate Butcher who made two saves and allowed one goal.
