Story:
Troops with the 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment returned from Iraq to a hero's welcome at the Marine Reserve Training Center in Garden City on Friday evening April 10th. Stewart Avenue, in Garden City, was lined with a large number of Fire apparatus including ladder trucks, Fire Engines and Firefighters from neighboring communities to provide a rousing welcome for the troops. The Ladder Trucks were set up with large American Flags hanging down over Stewart Avenue. Thousands of cheering friends and families were there with the firefighters to greet the returning troops who left for Iraq in September and spent seven months involved in counter-insurgency missions in Anbar province along with training Iraqi soldiers for combat. They are members of Headquarters & Service Company and Weapons Company.
