St. Dominic High School defeated St. John the Baptist 6-4 to win the NSCHSAA championship at New York Institute of Technology on May 26, 2009. St. Dominic's Derek Hirsch went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. MVP John Yohe had a run-scoring double and cenerfielder Joe LaMacchia made a diving catch to secure the win. CHSAA player of the year, Kevin Courtney hit a two-run double for St. John the Baptist. Starting pitcher for St. Dominic's, Robert Galligan was followed in relief by Kyle Hansen. Starting pitcher for St. John the Baptist was Thomas O'Neill.
