The Garden City Trojans traveled to Stony Brook University to take on Sayville in the LI Class B boys lacrosse championship on Tuesday evening June 9th. After an exciting first quarter, the Trojans led 4-1. It was the second quarter that led to the embarrassing situation for Sayville, not on the field, but on the sideline as Sayville coach Christian Doller was ejected from the game after consistently arguing calls with the refs. Doller picked up 2 flags and was ejected. He needed to be removed from the game by security, costing his team a 3 minute penalty. One would have to wonder about the example a coach should be setting for his players in situations like this. Sayville came back and tied it up 5-5 in the 3rd quarter. Sayville went on to win 12-10 but will have to play their state semi final game without Doller, due to his ejection.
