Story:
On Saturday morning, November 4th the undefeated Garden City Trojans JV football team traveled to Bellmore to take on Mepham.
Garden City opened the scoring when Pierce Bradley caught a pass from quarterback Matt Montomery and ran along the sideline and into the endzone for a touchdown. Mepham fumbled on their next possession and Garden City recovered setting up a touchdown on a long run by Mike Wood. Garden City was ahead 14-0 and kept the lead throughout the rest of the game.
Although Mepham did stage a comeback with a few second half touchdowns, GC's defense, including an interception by Matt Nesi, prevented Mepham from taking advantage of any opportunities as the Trojans came away with a 39-22 victory and a perfect 8-0 record.
Congratulations to new head coach Seth Messier and his assistants Bob Nolan and Matt McFarland. Garden City outscored their opponents almost 300-60 in 8 games and that was the team's 40th victory in a row. ..........Garden City Trojans 2006 JV Football Roster: Conor Dwyer, Jack Scorese, Matt Montgomery, Bryan Carney, Denis Rice, Thomas Buonincontin, Andrew D'Antonio, Peter Licitra, Chris Stapleford, Kyle Minerva, Matt Nesi, Nolan Gaugler, Mike Wood, Connor Cortese, Tyler Hancock, Ryan Kleshefsky, Joe Visentin, Sal Cassar, Jim Kenny, Mike Giannone, Brian Oakes, Joe Gentile, Alex Castronovo, Joe Heaphy Dean Miller, Christian Klupka, James Moore, Connor Horl, Paul Salicean, Chris Connors, Billy Sweeney, Brandon Passano, Scott Stein, Brendan Engelke, Mike Moonan, Brendan Creighton, Pierce Bradley, Joe Tursi, Jeff Cassel, Kevin Dachille, Jared Mitchell, Dan Niebler Head coach Seth Messier, Asst coaches Bob Nolan, Matt McFarland
