The Garden City Trojans defeated the Wantagh Warriors November 20 at Hofstra University's Shuart Stadium to win the Nassau County Conference II High School Football Championship. GC's Brian Fischer scored on a 30-yard run with 9:56 left in the third quarter. The Trojans took a 7-0 lead after Topher DiBona hit the extra point. Stephen Jahelka added a 2-yard run with 5:42 left in the third to put the Trojans up 14-0 after the extra point. That was all the Trojans would need as they went on to win the game and advance to the Long Island final against North Babylon.
