Garden City, NY--January 29, 2010. In a Nassau Conference ABC-I game, the Garden City Trojans girls varsity basketball team took on the South Side Cyclones at GC High School. South Side's Colleen Burke (15 points) hit two free throws with 11 seconds left to tie it at 42 for South Side but GC's Barbara Sullivan hit a layup off an assist from Diana Leondis with four seconds remaining to win the game for Garden City who extended their conference record to 8-1. Final score 44-42. Scoring for the Trojans: Diana Leondis (14), Kim Ryan(14), Barbara Sullivan (11) and Amalia Debrosse (5). Christina Mangels had 11 rebounds in the victory. Scoring for South Side: Colleen Burke (15), Lauren Lopresti (13), Megan Lonergan (6), Christina Merrifield (5), Emma Kriss (2), Elizabeth Textor (1).
