Garden City Trojans girls basketball defeats New Hyde Park Gladiators 49-31

It was senior night at Garden City High School as seniors Diana Leondis and Amalia DeBrosse played their final regular season home basketball game for the Trojans. Leondis, a five year starter and DeBrosse, who has been on the varsity team for four years were honored in a pre-game ceremony before the start of the game against the New Hyde Park Lady Gladiators. The Trojans led 17-7 after the first quarter and never looked back on their way to a 49-31 victory. Leading the scoring for GC was Barbara Sullivan with 22 points, followed by Kim Ryan (20), Amalia DeBrosse (2), Elizabeth Stutzmann (2), Julia Kiffel (2) and Jess Stein (1). Christina Mangels had 10 rebounds in the win.
