The Garden City Trojans girls varsity lacrosse team played host to Connecticut's Darien Blue Wave on Saturday afternoon, April 24th. Darien opened the scoring but the Trojans answered back and took control of the game. By the end of the first half GC held a 14-3 lead. The Trojans went on to win 18-8. Mikaela Rix led all scoring with six goals and two assists. Caroline Tarzian added four goals and two assists and Alex Bruno had three goals and an assist. Also scoring for the Trojans were Barbara Sullivan, 1 goal; Catherine McTiernan, 1 goal; Jenna Fuchs, 1 goal; Paige Logan, 1 goal/1 assist; Catherine Dickinson, 1 goal/2 assists; Krysta Cento, 1 assist; Katie D'Antonio, 1 assist. The Trojans used three goalkeepers. Kelly Weiss made 5 saves, Erin Mullins made one save and Megan McDonald made 2 saves. Scoring for Darien: Ann Nugha, 2 goals; Kat Thomas, 1 goal; Emma Getsinder, 1 goal; Liz Calby, 1 goal; Cali Cealaska, 1 goal;Corrine Sommi, 1 goal; McDonald, 1 goal.
