JP Basile Scores Four Goals As Garden City Trojans Defeat Plainedge Red Devils 15-1 in Boys Lacrosse

On Wednesday afternoon, April 9th, the Garden City Trojans (3-0) boys varsity lacrosse team played host to the Plainedge Red Devils (1-2) at Warren King Field. The Trojans are the 2013 New York State Class B champions and hold an overall record of 5-1, with their only loss this season coming off a non league game against Smithtown West. The Red Devils entered the game with a 4-3 overall record, but a 1-1 conference record. Despite the strong gusty winds, the Trojans controlled the ball, and the game, on their way to a 15-1 victory. Freshman JP Basile led all scoring with four goals. Kieran Byrnes scored two goals and had one assist. Luke McDaid: one goal and two assists, Dale Stasco: two goals, Connor McCullough:one assist, Brendan McLaughlin: one goal, Kyle Brattan: one goal, Liam Byrnes: one goal, Cody George: one goal, James Sullivan: one goal, Tim McDonagh: one assist. Danny Dolan started in goal for the Trojans and made three saves. Later in the game, Brian Hughes took over in goal and made seven saves for the Trojans. ...Nick Frenger scored the lone goal for Plainedge off an assist from Peter Hardt. Goalie Keith Cakoyanis made five saves for the Red Devils.
